The diesel generator set water pump function is to increase the pressure of the cooling water and drive the heat of the diesel generator in the coolant, so as to ensure that the diesel generator set will not be damaged due to overheating.

The diesel generator set water pump working principle  is to drive the water pump bearing and the impeller to rotate through the pulley. The coolant in the water pump is driven by the impeller to rotate together, and is thrown to the edge of the water pump shell under the action of centrifugal force, and a certain pressure is generated at the same time. Outflow from water course or pipe.

The pressure at the center of the impeller decreases due to the coolant being thrown out, and the coolant in the water tank is sucked into the impeller through the water pipe under the action of the pressure difference between the pump inlet and the center of the impeller to realize the circulation of the coolant. The water pump impeller generally has 6 to 8 impellers. The impeller shape has radial straight blades, and its structure is simple; the impeller has curved blades, and its pumping efficiency is high.

The structure of the water pump is composed of parts such as the water pump casing, the connecting plate or the pulley, the water pump shaft and the shaft-connected bearing, the water pump impeller and the water sealing device. The impeller is the core of the pump. The movement of the impeller itself is very simple, just rotating with the shaft.

Due to the action of the blades, the movement of the liquid in the impeller is very complicated; on the one hand, it moves with the rotation of the impeller; Therefore, the outer diameter of the impeller, the height and angle of the impeller blades, and the gap with the pump casing directly affect the performance of the pump.
