The diesel generator stops suddenly during operation, presses the hand oil pump, and the system is filled with fuel and continues to start, but the diesel engine stops suddenly after running for less than 3 minutes. This fault is usually caused by a blockage or air leakage in the fuel supply system.

The Main Reasons For The Failure Are As Follows:

1. The fuel pump is faulty;

2. The diesel filter element is clogged;

3. The oil circuit or oil inlet filter is blocked;

4. The fuel injection pump is stuck at the position where no fuel is supplied;

5. The air filter is partially blocked, resulting in insufficient air intake of the diesel engine;

6. There is air in the oil circuit or the joints of each oil circuit are loose, resulting in oil leakage;

7. The fuel injection hole of the fuel injector is blocked or the needle valve is stuck in the position where no fuel is supplied;

The Troubleshooting Method Is As Follows:

1. Remove the oil return screw of the high-pressure oil pump, press the oil delivery pump with the right hand, and feel that the oil quantity meets the regulations, but there are many impurities in the diesel oil flowing out of the filter.

Remove the filter and check whether the diesel filter element is clogged. It turns out that the diesel filter element has deteriorated, there is a lot of sludge inside, and the diesel filter element has lost its function.

Replaced with a new filter element, the diesel engine suddenly stopped within 5 minutes after starting.

2. Remove the oil return screw of the diesel filter, press the oil transfer pump, and find that the oil output from the oil transfer pump is normal and the seal is good.

3. Remove the side cover of the high-pressure oil pump, unscrew the fixing nuts of the four high-pressure oil pipes, pry the plunger with a flat-blade screwdriver, observe whether the oil is coming out of each cylinder, check the plunger and the oil outlet valve, and the result is also normal.

It should be difficult to start a diesel engine when the seal in the combustion chamber is poor, but this diesel engine starts easily, which means that it should not be a problem with valve leakage, valve clearance, or fuel supply advance angle.

4. Disassemble the oil delivery pump, check the roller and ejector rod of the oil delivery pump, and find that the roller enters the ejector rod sleeve, the positions of the two locking pieces differ by 90°, the roller is stuck and cannot bounce back and forth, causing the diesel engine to lose power after starting. The oil pump does not work.

5. Adjust the relative position of the two locking pieces, and install the screws of the oil delivery pump and each oil return pipe, the high-pressure oil pipe, and the fixing nut of the high-pressure oil pump. Start the diesel engine and observe that there is no shutdown phenomenon after half an hour, and the fault is eliminated.

Through the troubleshooting of the above points, I believe that everyone can quickly find the cause of the downtime, deal with the equipment failure in time, and restore the normal operation of the generator equipment as soon as possible.
