The role of the air filter is to filter out dust and impurities in the air and send clean air (or a combustible mixture of air and fuel) into the combustion chamber to reduce the air between the piston and the cylinder liner, between the piston group and the valve wear between sets.
In addition, the air filter of the diesel generator also has the function of suppressing the intake noise of the diesel engine.
If the filter element of the air filter is clogged, or the air resistance increases due to quality problems, the diesel engine will suffer from insufficient air intake. If the amount of air entering the cylinder decreases, the fuel mixture will become inappropriate (generally the mixture is too rich), and the direct result is that the fuel injected into the cylinder will not burn completely. At this time, the diesel engine may appear insufficient power and the Fault phenomenon of black smoke from the exhaust.
The air filter of the diesel generator set plays an important role in the unit. Users should pay attention to the maintenance of the air filter when using the diesel generator set so that the unit can maintain a good operating condition and prolong the service life of the diesel engine set.
Diesel Generator Air Filter Maintenance Method:
1. The deflector grille of the air filter should be kept free from deformation and rust, and its inclination angle should be 30-45°. If it is too small, the resistance will increase, which will affect the air intake. If it is too large, the rotation of the airflow will be weakened, and the ability to separate dust will be weakened. decrease. The surface of the blades must not be painted to prevent oxidized particles from entering the cylinder. The direction of the dust outlet should be based on the ability to discharge dust particles.
2. During maintenance, the ventilation mesh should be cleaned; if there is a dust collection cup, the dust particles should not exceed 1/3 of the height, otherwise, it should be removed in time; the dust collection cup mouth should be tightly sealed, and the rubber sealing strip must not be damaged or lost.
3. The height of the oil surface of the fine filter should comply with the standard. If it is too high, the engine oil will enter the cylinder and cause carbon deposits. If it is too low, the filtering effect will be reduced and the wear will be accelerated.
4. If the metal mesh (wire) in the fine filter is substituted, the diameter of the hole or wire can only be slightly smaller, and cannot be increased, and the filling volume must not be reduced, otherwise the filtering effect will be reduced.
5. There must be no air leakage in the air intake pipeline. Oil change and cleaning should be carried out in a place without wind and dust; blowing the filter screen should use high-pressure air in an environment with low humidity, and the blowing direction should be consistent with the direction of air entering the filter screen. The direction is opposite; when installing, the directions of the folds of adjacent filter screens should cross each other.
6. When installing the air filter, do not miss, reverse or wrongly install the sealing gaskets and rubber connecting pipes, and ensure the tightness of the embedding. For the paper dust cup air filter used, the dust should be removed once every 50-100 hours of work, and the surface dust can be brushed off with a soft brush. If the work time exceeds 500 hours or is damaged, it should be replaced in time.
